Who am I?

Hi, I’m Andrew — a data analyst and consultant with a passion for transforming raw data into clear, actionable insights.

My journey in IT began in the late 1980s, developing PC applications using Microsoft QuickBasic. I later moved into network management and support, maintaining Novell NetWare environments and supporting companies running SCO XENIX and later SCO UNIX systems. I also worked extensively with Lotus 1-2-3, solving complex macro issues used in corporate accounts consolidation.

In 2003, I became a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer for Windows 2000, SQL Server, and Exchange Server.

Over the following years, I developed and maintained Microsoft Access applications, and built web-based data entry portals using PHP and MySQL. I also played a key role in cleaning and transforming product master data files to ensure compatibility with our inventory audit software.

My development work has included automation tools in Java — such as generating weekly PowerPoint activity reports — and Python scripts for monitoring file changes on Linux servers.

Since 2019, I’ve focused on Power BI, and over the last three years, I’ve expanded my skillset to include SQL, Python for data science and visualization, Tableau, and most recently, Microsoft Fabric.

I’m proud to be a Microsoft Certified Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate, and I bring a deep understanding of data engineering, transformation pipelines, and business intelligence reporting to every project.

What I Do

I help individuals and businesses unlock the value of their data — whether it’s through insightful dashboards, streamlined reporting processes, or efficient data pipelines.

With strong skills in Power BI, Excel, SQL, and Python, I create solutions that turn complex or scattered information into clear, actionable insights. I’m particularly experienced with Power BI dashboards, Excel automation, and building data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric using Lakehouses and Warehouses. I also work with Tableau and MySQL databases, and I’m open to small-scale data science projects using Python’s machine learning libraries for supervised and unsupervised learning.

I bring over 30 years of experience in IT — including 25 years working in Facilities Management companies in Thailand — where I’ve helped speed up financial processes, automate reports, and improve data workflows.

While I’m not currently working with clients, I’m looking to support:

  • Small businesses who want to move beyond spreadsheet chaos

  • Teams seeking clarity, automation, or better reporting tools

  • Anyone who values clean, reliable data and efficient processes

Depending on your needs, I can deliver one-off projects, offer ongoing support, or provide training to help your team get more out of your data tools. I’m collaborative, flexible, and focused on building practical solutions that last.

Why I Do It

I enjoy the challenge of working with data — from cleaning and preparing it, to choosing the right visuals that bring clarity to complex information. Finding insights hidden in the data is something I find genuinely rewarding, especially when those insights help people make better decisions.

I first got into data analysis when I volunteered to take on a report no one else wanted to do. It turned out to be something I enjoyed — and something I was good at. Since then, I’ve built reports that teams rely on to track performance across sites, and now I want to use what I’ve learned to help others.

What drives me is the idea of making IT and data feel less intimidating. I believe technology should support people, not confuse them. Whether it’s creating a Power BI dashboard or solving a tricky Excel issue, I aim to build tools that are genuinely useful — and to explain things clearly along the way.

I’d love to become the go-to person for Power BI, Excel, and machine learning challenges — someone clients can trust to figure things out, solve problems, and explain it all in a friendly, down-to-earth way. And as I grow, I want to teach others too — sharing what I’ve learned so they can do more with their own data.

Why I do it

How I Work

Every project is different, so I aim to keep things flexible and collaborative — but here’s what you can generally expect when working with me:

1. Understanding Your Needs
We’ll start with a short conversation — either over email or a meeting (Teams, Zoom, or whatever works best for you) — to understand your goals, challenges, and the data you’re working with. I’ll ask the right questions to make sure I understand what success looks like for you.

2. Planning the Work
If needed, I’ll put together a short plan or proposal outlining what I’ll deliver, the tools I’ll use, and the timeline. This helps make sure we’re aligned from the beginning.

3. Independent but Transparent
I usually work independently, but I’ll keep you updated at key milestones or checkpoints so you always know how things are progressing. If anything needs adjusting, we’ll talk it through.

4. Delivery and Walkthrough
When the work is ready, I’ll walk you through it — whether that’s a Power BI report, a cleaned dataset, or a machine learning model — to make sure everything works as expected and answer any questions.

I can also provide documentation, which may include:

  • A summary of what was built and why

  • Data sources and key transformation steps

  • Field or column definitions

  • Business logic used in calculations

  • How to refresh or maintain the solution

  • Tips for using the report or dashboard effectively

5. Support After Delivery
I’m available to answer follow-up questions and help troubleshoot anything that comes up when the work is in use. If you need longer-term support, I offer retainer packages with flexible pricing depending on how much ongoing help you need each month.

My Promise

I aim to make your data work for you — clearly, efficiently, and without stress. Whether you’re looking for insights, better reporting, or automation, I’ll bring focus, honesty, and a friendly approach to every project.
